Project Solstice (2)
Philippe's 226 Blog December 2025
A really poor start! - I'm not in a great place! Get a grip Philippe, there's too much at stake to mess this up. I am nearly 50 days into this project and I just haven't got going on any aspect of the challenge. Whilst my hip is an issue, I must find a way of making progress, the drugs won't do it all.
Considering my challenges in a bit of detail, chronic pain, poor sleep, rigidity and apathy really don't help at all. The interesting Parkinson's related challenge is the inability to multifocus. I'm not talking here about day to day multitasks like chattIng to somebody whist emptying the dishwasher, I am talking about focusing on more high level activities. Parkinson's challenges my ability, for example, to improve my balance through pre defined routines, whilst improving my table tennis through training sessions, whilst writing a chapter of my book. It's hard to describe, but my brain doesn't want to deal with the weight of all three in parallel - and it's that multi focus that needs to be conquered .... and I will conquer it.

It's Christmas Day, and there's no better time to start to focus my attention on improving my symptoms. It's my intention to create a consistent routine - time to get into some good habits Philippe. One step at a time.
When you find yourself at the bottom of a big hill, all you can do is start to climb.
